Rafa was interviewed on a Spanish radio station via mobile phone on the way to the airport last night.
Was asked about Torres's impressive form and why he thinks he's so clinical now, when he used to miss many chances at Atletico.  Rafa said it's because he's going for precision and placement now and also he has players like Babel, Gerrard and Kuyt supporting him and the rest of the team is well balanced.
Then he was asked about the Xabi situation and he sounded a bit annoyed at how certain news get picked up by the Spanish press 'over the internet with a lack of journalistic scrutiny' and 'gathering news from the sensationalist London press who are openly anti-Liverpool'.  Then the interviewer points to Rafa that perhaps the official site should've released a note explaining the situation and he tells Rafa the version that was out there.
Rafa explains that they had agreed about bringing Xabi in and had even put him on a waiting list for plane tickets but as the hours went by and nothing happened he had to make a decision and he made the decision based on Xabi having played 90 minutes on Saturday and having had little to eat, very little rest, etc... but that there was no problem at all and he had texted and left a voicemail congratulating Xabi on the birth of his newborn.
Then he gets asked if it had bothered him at all since he's known for his 'single-minded' reputation of putting football first and Rafa pretty much said that's was utter bollocks that keeps getting repeated over and over.  He puts his family first and then football and that he wants the best for his family and  his players.  Football is very important but family is more important.
And then he rubbished the Atletico and Inter links, saying that the off-the-pitch  stuff doesn't affect him because he's focused on his job and he's very happy at Liverpool.

然后回应关于索的，rafa说伦敦的anti-liverpool的媒体胡乱引用。
他解释说本来他已经同意索在孩子出生后去，他的名字已经在机票的waiting list里了，但是到最后时间不够了。他做出留索在利物浦的决定，是根据很多因素，索上周六踢满九十分钟，吃得少休息的少。。。拉法还有发短信和语音消息祝贺孩子的出生。
拉法被问道这件事会不会让他烦恼，因为他是出名的将足球放在第一的。拉法机灵的回答，这完全是胡说。他是把家庭放在第一的，所以他也希望他队员的家庭一切顺利。足球很重要，但是家庭更重要。
之后还废话一些诸如，他在利物浦工作很开心之类的
